James F. McGuckin graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1983 with a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Pre-Medical. Dr. McGuckin received his medical training at Hahnemann University in 1987, his masters in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania in 1990, and completed a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1996.

Dr. McGuckin is Director of The Philadelphia Vascular Institute and is Founder and CEO of Vascular Access Centers which specializes in high level peripheral arterial work and venous disorders, including recanalization of central venous occlusion. Dr. McGuckin’s research interests cover a wide spectrum, including but not limited to, Endoscopy/Endosurgery, Peripheral Arterial Disease, Limb Salvage, and Dialysis Access related to End Stage Renal Disease. Dr. McGuckin is widely published and an invited presenter at conferences nationally and internationally.
